Welcome to the Upgrading to Microsoft Windows Vista courseware! 

Late in 2006, after much anticipation and deliberation, Microsoft released their latest offering in the Windows family.  Sporting a new interface, more security, a number of visual upgrades, and (depending on the version) lots of new useful utilities. This is a flag ship product for the future.

Each program is designed for those who have had experience navigating within previous versions of Windows and or Office like Windows 98, 2000, or XP.  In the previous versions Microsoft maintained the same user interface with each release, the focus was strictly on the new features. With Vista / Office 2007 new interface the experienced user must learn to navigate like a novice. For example the use of ribbons and contextual menus vis a vie toolbars. Consequently, the topic areas are wider in scope and duration of each program within the upgrade series has been extended from a one day format.
